So... I am not fond of the idea of hooking a carrier onto my trunk also the last one I saw on a Taurus wouldn't work on mine because of the rear spoiler. I've looked at the sea suckers mount, they do seem nice, but on the other hand I would really love something that leaves the front wheel on.

Kinja'd!!!

Right now I am just folding my seats down, taking the front wheel off and shoving the bike in my car, which is another reason the seasucker doesn't seem like a distinct advantage. But if that's my criteria, a hitch mounted one is really my only other option, right? That also seems impractical. Because I could hardly permanently leave that on my car as I park downtown, on the streets.

Is trunk with seats folded down really my best option??? It involves the least amount of additional parts, the least weight and the most aerodynamic. I'm also not lugging a bicycle carrier in and out of my apartment every time I want to ride.

UNLESS.... The hitch mounted ones can be had with wheels on them! Or I could mount some wheels to them, then I could wheel it in and out of my apt no problem, with the bike attached (there's an elevator in my building).

Bike racks that block the rear tails and blinkers are obnoxious. Don't do that unless you're going to route aux lighting.

Just keep taking the front wheel off.

I have a hitch mounted carrier for my Grand Marquis. Store it in the trunk when not in use, takes all of 30 seconds to install. Also allows me to open to trunk when the bikes are on it, although that varies car to car.

Get hitch mount; fab brackets and mounts for wheels; mount wheels; solved.

Actually, I would just keep sticking it in the trunk. One on the reasons I have kept my G8 for so long (almost got a 2nd gen CTS-V sedan, but bike wouldn't fit in the trunk) is that I can fit my 29er in the trunk if I take off both wheels. I just keep it in there most of the time. Its not that big of an deal taking the wheels on and off.

Worth seeing it your bike will fit in the trunk w/o out the rear wheel.

Yeah, I'd have to see how that works out on my car.

Everyone is telling me "DUDE YOU NEED A BIKERACK", but I really don't think it'd make my life much easier, except maybe if I do it how I wrote in the last paragraph.

Oooh, yours looks nice and small too, a lot of the ones I see out at the trail are bulky and wouldn't easily fit in the trunk i think. Unless they fold into something smaller. They pretty much Tee off the hitch and have "tire-bowls", dunno what else to call them. Lol.

Eh... I don't know if I want to deal with taking both wheels off all the time. Maybe worth it if I want to keep my rear seat folded up.

I got one of these guys, $80 at wally world. It breaks down into 3 pieces, and is easy to move around or stuff in the trunk when not in use. Mounts on a hitch, so you'll need to get one of those. Etrailer.com has those for ~$125 for a newer Mustang.

Ah right on, Etrailer has them for my car for just under $200 in Class III.

I may as well get the 2inch hitch receiver opening right? Then I'd be more versatile in other receivers I can poke in there.

It's not that much more of a hassle as long as you have quick releases. If not, I would go with a hitch mount. I know with any sort of roof rack or sea sucker type mount i'd eventually screw up and gouge my paint. And I would only have myself to be mad at; which is so damn frustrating.

Yeah. I have quick releases. But the rear has the chain connected to it, and the disc brake, how on earth isn't that more of a hassle?
